In an effort to save money and lose weight, I will often meal prep on Sundays. I plan my meats, vegetables, and snacks. It does not take a very long time. Depending on the meals, I have enough for the week and it may take about 2 hours to complete.
I have found that I also have to prep for my spiritual growth. I have a daily routine for reading and studying the Bible. I read devotions. I pray with a prayer sister. I pray with a prayer partner. I pray and meditate on scripture throughout the day. I have several resources in my home office to help with my studies. I attend bible study during the week and corporate worship and Sunday school on Sundays.
What am I saying? Do you desire the promises of God? Do you know what those promises are? In order to know the promises, you have to spend time with Him. You have to study His word. You have to prepare and take an active part in your spiritual growth. Will you be perfect everyday? Of course not, and that is fine, just make an effort. When you begin to show your dedication to spiritual growth, He will show you the way.
