I took some time off to celebrate my senior! She graduated, and we celebrated with family and friends!! Now back to work!!
There are so many testimonies surrounding the weekend. I can not share them, because they were not my test, but I can say, truly God is great and greatly to be praised!!! From the rising of the sun, to the going down of the same!!! He truly moves at the right time!! When I look back over the weekend, all I see is Jesus!!! Thank you, Lord!!!! The enemy tried to show his face, but he did not destroy the peace and love surrounding the weekend. I am so humbled by the love showed to us the weekend. Those that traveled from Virginia, those that placed themselves in uncomfortable positions, those that sacrificed their time, and the prayers of many. As you continue this day, remember how great God is! Remember, He will provide everything you need this day. He will protect you! He will guide you! He will teach you! He will love you!! His will, will be done, in your life, today!! God is great and greatly to be praised!!! Psalm 145:3

Practice makes perfect. Very familiar, right?
Practice makes perfect. What are we practicing? Are we practicing faith? Are we practicing forgiveness? Are we practicing love? Are we practicing? I pray we are living as we should, because one day the practice will be over. We do not know when our time is coming, but wouldn't it be nice to not be practicing but living as He would have us to live? Matthew 25: 35-40 I was chopping vegetables this morning and a thought came to mind. I had this beautiful green pepper in my hand, I washed it, cut the top off, and pulled the mess from the inside out. I then put it on the fire and cooked it until it was done.
Does that remind you of anything? Let me tell you what I saw. I saw me. I was and still am beautiful on the outside. I have been saved and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ. But even still, I am in His hands and He is working on me. He is cleaning the inside out and placing me on the fire, repeatedly, until I am done. Glory!!! I am not done yet! But, I thank Him for the journey. When I get done!!! Glory!!! What a day that will be!!! But in the meantime, I am going to keep running this race. I am going to stay in His hands. I am going to go through the cutting and the fire, all for His Glory!! Blessings!! 1 Peter 1:7, Zechariah 13:9, John 15:1 I may not have money in the bank...
I may not have the big house on the hill... I may not have the finest husband/wife in the world... I may not have the highest degree... I may not have the best children in the neighborhood.. I may not have the best job in the city.. I may not have the fastest car.... I may not have the designer clothes... I may not..... or I might have all those things.... But...... I have Jesus!!! and whatever state I am in, it is well with my soul!!! I have learned I do not need stuff or people for joy. The joy of the Lord is my strength. The Lord is my source. As long as I have King Jesus, I do not need anything else. Without Jesus, I am nothing. Do not put your trust on things, put your trust in Jesus! Do not have faith in people, put your faith in Jesus! Matthew 16:26, Philippians 4:11-12 I am slowly getting into the celebration mode. My child is a senior and I am preparing for company and the celebration.
This morning, I was reflecting on the beginning. This day was hard to imagine, with all the challenges my child had to face. I remember being told why she could not do "this" and why she would need to have extra "this". But God!! Not only is my child graduating high school but she also completed two college courses this semester. But God!! I too, thought many times she would not make it, I was pushing too hard, and I just needed to give up. But God!!! This has truly been a faith walk for me and her. God had her (and me) through it all. I am reminded, it does not matter what the people say, God is in control. God has a plan for us all. Don't let the naysayers stop you from pursuing the vision God has given you. Don't let the doubters destroy your dreams. Don't stop believing in yourself. Don't stop trusting God. Philippians 4:13 I want to share my scripture for the week with you today.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. What is God saying to you this morning? I know what this verse speaks to me, but it is not about me. Each day, I ask God to give me the words for who He has prepared to receive them. So if you are reading this post, what is He saying to you this morning? After you hear His voice, move. Move into what He has for you this day. Move forward in your purpose, knowing He will provide EVERY need, along the way. Thank Him in advance, for moving, supplying, blocking, destroying, elevating, equipping, releasing, restoring, reconciling, replenishing, and protecting. Philippians 4: 4-13 Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare?
Do not try to be like the hare. You do not have to run so fast that you end up losing. Do not get an attitude of over confidence that you begin to serve self and not God. Do not look at those around you and judge the race they are running. Try to be like the tortoise. Focus on the task at hand and complete the course. Do not let someone intimidate you; keep running your race. Remember what God has for you, is for you and nobody can keep you from it. It may look like you are losing to others, but God said you are a winner!! Praise God!! Glory to His name!! Ecclesiastes 9:11, Romans 8: 37-39, Jeremiah 29:11 News Flash!!!
We are not perfect. We will never be perfect. Well...not on this side of heaven..... So, stop beating yourself up!! You made a mistake, you said something out of sorts, you did not pay your tithes, or whatever your "issue" may be. Remember who you are and who your God is. Repent and move forward. We will hold on to "stuff" so long, it begins to make us feel unworthy. Forgetting just how worthy we are!!! His Son died for us. He loves us! He forgave us, but we cannot forgive ourselves. Let it go, today! You are forgiven. He has work for you to do. Yes, in your imperfect state, you have kingdom business you are responsible to complete. Don't believe me? Moses, Rahab, David, Paul......remember them? We are not perfect.... 1 John 1: 8-10, Ecclesiastes 7:20 I started and completed my garden. It is so exciting for me to see the plants and seeds go in the dirt, and then spring forth fruit. I enjoy the harvest, but watching the growth is amazing, as well.
I can see us being placed in dirt, in some dirty situations. I can see us being covered up to the neck in mess. But God!!! He protects us from the elements and the parasites. He provides us daily provision. As we are in the dirt, we mature and eventually spring forth with fruit!! Even though, a small part of us remain in the dirt, God allows us to mature. What am I saying? You may find yourself in some unpleasant situations, but God is able to use you. God will continue to protect you. You will never be perfect and your life may always have some issues, but trust God. Know who you are in Him. Continue to allow the fruit to push up through the dirt. God used Moses, Abraham, Rahab, David, and many others... imperfect people used by the perfect God...... Blessings!!!! Is anyone among you sick?
I learned that a friend has a sick child. Cancer has returned to her body. Tears flowed as I could feel the hurt and pain of the mother. When our children are sick, hurting, and in pain, we feel them. We want to take the pain away. We want to take the uncertainty away. A wave of emotions came over me. I questioned God. Then, I repented and prayed. You see, that is one thing I know I can do. Matter of fact, praying is what we all can do for each other. We may not understand God, but He is still God. He is still sovereign. He is still our Father. He is still Abba. So are there any sick among you? Please pray. James 5: 14-16, Isaiah 53:5 |
