Brick Walls

I was looking at a recent picture and I shifted to the background. Behind me was a brick wall but there was a smile on my face.
I thought about all the times I was told no. I thought about all the obstacles I had to overcome. I thought about the doors slammed shut in my face. I even thought about the times my brick wall was my own thoughts.
But God!!
Have the brick walls gone away? Are the obstacles gone? Of course not, but I am still smiling.
I can smile. You can smile. Why? Because we are not facing brick walls alone. The brick wall can't hurt us. The brick wall is oftentimes the precursor to our promise.
Stand in front of your brick wall with a smile.
God is with you.
