I am guilty of saying I do not want Monday to come. I am guilty of complaining the weekend was too short. I am guilty of dreading getting up early on Monday for work.
I am guilty. Am I the only one? Well...this morning I was convicted. How can I thank God in prayer for a new day but complain about having to go to work? First of all, I woke up! Secondly, He allows me to have a career. He placed me in a position where I know, without a doubt, it was His doing. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy the people I work with. I even have times where He allows me to minister to others. Why would I complain? Are you guilty? Look at it differently, you are here to enjoy another Monday. Everything we do, we do for Him. Everything, including work on Monday :-) Colossians 3:17, Colossians 3:23

Lord, thank you for this day. Thank you for a brand new day of mercy and grace. As we go about the many activities today, I pray we see You in everything. Every person we meet, every place we go, everything we do, I pray we see You. Guide us this day. Let us be about your business. Thank you for every opportunity we have today. We give you all honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus name, AMEN. AMEN. AMEN.
I watched a movie, Collateral Beauty, last night. If you watched it, you probably noticed some of the same things I noticed. If you have not watched the movie, this will not be a spoiler alert, please watch it.
After watching, three things stuck out to me: LOVE, TIME, and DEATH. LOVE: Where am I? TIME: What am I doing with? DEATH: Am I prepared? ___________________________ There is no wrong or right answer. Ponder those questions today. Where are you with love? Self-love, love for others, do you see love in everything? Are you walking in love? What are you doing with time? Do you know your purpose? Are you spending quality time with family/friends? Are you spending time with Jesus? If you were called home today, would your time on this side make a difference in the lives of others? Are you prepared for death? Nobody like to talk about death. But are you prepared? Prepared is different from being ready. When you die are you secure with Jesus? Have you considered the family you will leave behind, and helped them be prepared, by sharing salvation? ---------------------------------------------------- As you ponder those questions, your answers and thoughts may be totally different. My prayer is they will assist you with making a change, if it is needed. Blessings!! In an effort to save money and lose weight, I will often meal prep on Sundays. I plan my meats, vegetables, and snacks. It does not take a very long time. Depending on the meals, I have enough for the week and it may take about 2 hours to complete.
_____________________ I have found that I also have to prep for my spiritual growth. I have a daily routine for reading and studying the Bible. I read devotions. I pray with a prayer sister. I pray with a prayer partner. I pray and meditate on scripture throughout the day. I have several resources in my home office to help with my studies. I attend bible study during the week and corporate worship and Sunday school on Sundays. What am I saying? Do you desire the promises of God? Do you know what those promises are? In order to know the promises, you have to spend time with Him. You have to study His word. You have to prepare and take an active part in your spiritual growth. Will you be perfect everyday? Of course not, and that is fine, just make an effort. When you begin to show your dedication to spiritual growth, He will show you the way. Blessings!! 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16 It is that time again....
What will you sacrifice? The Lord showed me something, last year. My sacrifice did not have to be abstaining from food, social media, coke, etc. He showed me, I could also pour into something or someone daily.... This is a transparent moment for me.... last year my sacrifice was to speak life into my daughter everyday, during Lent. Each day I would pick a scripture in the Bible and text it to her or I would send her an affirmation statement. It was a true sacrifice for me. Honestly, I do not think I completed the task, for whatever reasons. This year, I am asking God for a new assignment for Lent, a true sacrifice. It is easy for me to give up certain food, drinks, etc., but my prayer is to have a meaningful sacrifice. God gave us His Son, the ultimate sacrifice. His Son, Jesus the Christ, the only sacrifice that could wash our sins away. The only sacrifice that could give us eternal life. As you prepare for Lent, ask God what He would have for you to sacrifice. Don't just say what you will give up, knowing you give "it" up every Lent season. |
