Recently, I have been thinking on the story of the woman with the alabaster box. The account found in Luke 7: 36-50. This woman is pressing my spirit. As I read the beginning verses, her knowledge of the situation is inspiring. There are two things this woman is sure of, one, she knows she is a sinner. Secondly, she knows Jesus is going to be at the religious leader's home. But, knowing this did not stop her. She must have been aware that the religious leaders and those in attendance would know her as a sinner as well. Matter of fact, further down in the verses the man alludes to her sin.
Have you ever walked in a room and the room becomes quiet? I can only imagine the reaction when she, a sinner, walked in the home. However, she did not quit. She took her precious box, poured out her heart, in spite of who she was and what the people thought they knew. My questions for you today, is where is your box? What one thing is holding you back from repentance? from worship? Are you ready to give it all Jesus? Prayer: Lord, you reign! You are Alpha and Omega! You are Lord of Lords! You are King of Kings! Give us the strength to come to you and repent daily. Give us the faith to worship you daily. We recognize we are imperfect but you God are perfect! Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. We give you praise, honor, and glory. In Jesus name, Amen. Scripture: The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm 51: 17 KJV
