The holidays prove to be difficult for many. Reflecting on those who have been promoted to a heavenly position causes the return of sadness, despair, and/or feeling lost. Maybe you have lost a parent, child, family member, or friend and you are questioning God.
Are you wondering how you can be thankful without the love of your life? Are you in a painful situation right now? Maybe you are one of many who have lost employment due to the virus. Are you wondering where you and your family will live? eat? survive? I know things do not look good at the moment. I know things do not feel good at the moment. However, I want to encourage you. EVERYTHING you need is within you as a believer. I have an assignment for you to complete. Take a piece of paper and write "THANKFUL" at the top; then start a list of those things you are thankful for in your life. When you focus on the good, the bad does not feel so bad. As you look at your list, you can see where God keeps his promises. As you look at your list, you will gain renewed strength to keep moving forward. After completing your list, talk with God. Give him your burdens! Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shalom for your peace today. We thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for food, clothing, and shelter. We thank you for meeting our needs. We thank you for the ability to look to the hills. We thank you for the ability to stand on your promises. We thank you! In Jesus name, Amen. Scripture: I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works. Psalm 9:1 KJV Transparency moment:
This continues to be a difficult year. So many things have tried to put me in the valley. I hurt. I have tried to be there for family and friends as they have experienced some of the worst moments of their lives. I hurt. I feel the pain. I feel the hopelessness. I feel the tears. Last night and this morning, I have been crying out to God. I hurt. I feel the pain. I did what I was told to do. I prayed. I fasted. I cried. I encouraged. But....I hurt... This morning God spoke to me. He said "assume the position." I knew immediately what he was telling me. Give it to Him. Get on my knees. Lay prostrate before Him. Give it to Him. He knows I hurt. He knows I feel the pain. He knows I cry. He hears my prayers. He is giving me strength to do His will when others hurt. He said "give it to me." Assume the position. Prayer: Thank you Lord for never leaving nor forsaking your children. Thank you Lord for using your servants to pray, cry, encourage, and hope for those when they are in the valley. Thank you for strength, peace, and your mercy and grace as your servants do your will. In Jesus name, Amen. Scripture: Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; thy rod and thy staff comfort me. Psalm 23:4 KJV To know Him is to know his saving power. He can save you from pain, fear, doubt, hopelessness, and despair. The only requirement is to believe; believe he died for you to be saved. When you believe in the saving power, you remember where your strength comes from. Do not give up! Keep the faith! Walk in the saving power of Jesus Christ.

Troubles on the right. Calamity on the left. Storm clouds above you. Enemy in front of you. Backstabbers behind you. What to do? Be still. Trust God. There is nothing impossible for him. In the valley? Look up. In quickstand? Stand firm. Getting pulled in all directions? Hold on. The LORD GOD has ALL POWER and HE IS YOUR JEHOVAH NISSI! Prayer: Thank you, Lord for saving us today. Although the battle is fierce, YOU are strong! We give you glory and honor! In Jesus name, Amen. Scripture: The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. Some call them "valley experiences." You may be in a "valley experience" right now. A medical diagnosis A divorce. Financial strain Something or someone has you in a valley experience and you do not feel strong; you feel weak. Let me encourage you! When you are in the valley, look up! Scripture: What shall we then say? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 KJV Prayer: Thank you Lord for your strength and mighty power. Even in a "valley experience" you are there protecting and covering. Your love is bigger than any "valley experience." Glory and honor belongs to you! In Jesus name, Amen. You are a survivor because you are a child of the Savior. It is simple.
If you are in doubt, I invite you to read the Word. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 "but the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one."* Isaiah 54:17, "no weapon forged against you will prevail." Psalm 23:4, "even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me." 2 Timothy 4:17, "the Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom." However, the Word of God is the better choice. The Word is not only necessary but it is mandatory for the believer. The Word provides everything the believer needs; substance, strength, joy, peace, understanding, and hope. The Word removes toxins; those things you think or do that are displeasing to your Father.
